North St Ives Medical Practice
An established practice entering its next chapter
Becoming St Ives Doctors in September 2026
North St Ives Medical Practice has cared for patients across St Ives and the surrounding Upper North Shore for more than 45 years. In September 2026, the practice will become St Ives Doctors and relocate to a larger, purpose-designed practice at St Ives Plaza Shopping Village. The name and premises are changing. The established doctors, patient relationships and independent character of the practice will continue.
The strength of the practice comes from the relationships built between patients, doctors and the wider practice team over many years.
Many patients and families have been cared for by the practice across different stages of their lives. Their doctors understand their histories, circumstances and changing healthcare needs.
That continuity remains central to the transition to St Ives Doctors.
The move is not intended to replace what has already been built. It is designed to give the practice stronger facilities, greater capacity and a more developed operating foundation for the future.
A major investment in the practice
Loxley Health is investing in a larger, purpose-designed home for the practice.
The new premises will provide expanded consulting facilities, on-site pathology and the clinical infrastructure required to support the continued development of the practice.
The environment has been designed around the practical delivery of general practice, including considered consulting spaces, appropriate clinical equipment, dependable technology and improved support areas for doctors and staff.
The relocation reflects a substantial long-term commitment to the practice and the broader community it serves.
Independent and doctor-led
Clinical decisions remain with the doctors caring for each patient.
Doctors are supported to exercise their professional judgment, develop their clinical interests and build lasting relationships with their patients.
Loxley Health provides the operating structure around the clinical team, while the practice’s clinical leadership helps ensure that decisions affecting patient care remain clinically informed.
This separation between clinical and operational responsibility protects professional autonomy while maintaining clear governance and accountability.
A supported environment for doctors and staff
They need capable nursing and administrative teams, reliable systems, appropriate facilities and responsive practice leadership.
St Ives Doctors is being developed as a professionally rewarding place to practise, with support designed to reduce avoidable administrative pressure and allow doctors to concentrate on patient care.
The operating environment includes:
experienced nursing and administrative support
clear practice governance and documented procedures
appropriate clinical facilities and equipment
dependable patient administration and technology systems
support for accreditation, privacy, quality and risk management
flexibility for doctors to develop their clinical interests
defined clinical and operational leadership
Growth supported by the right foundations
Additional doctors, services and clinical capacity are introduced where they respond to genuine patient need and strengthen the practice.
Growth must be supported by the workforce, systems, leadership and facilities required to maintain clinical quality and operational stability.
The objective is to build a stronger and more complete practice without losing the continuity, local identity and clinical independence that patients and doctors value.
Designed for the long term
St Ives Doctors brings together an established patient community, longstanding clinical relationships, modern premises and a more developed operating platform. The practice is being built to support doctors, staff and patients well today while creating the capacity to remain strong over time.
